It’s a Votest: Rip it or Not – 2008 Allen & Ginter

I was able to snag this Rip card of Hanley Ramirez for about fifty dollars and now I’m tempted to rip it open.  I’ll be honest – the logical Chuck side is telling me to keep it intact since the last time I had a Rip card (2006 case), all I got was a high numbered mini of some schlub.  The illogical side of me wants to open up a red auto or a 1/1 and make about twenty bucks profit.  Still, do I really want to rip a Hanley card for a gamble?

All the gamble was soaked out of me from my recent Vegas jaunt, so I'll leave it up to you guys, the readers.
Please vote and I'll carry out your wishes, dear reader.  Also, in exchange, please leave a comment on this post and you'll be entered into a random drawing for the following prizes.  One comment per person, please.  Also, if you wouldn't mind, please advertise this post so that I can get a lot of votes and have a large sample size to make this decision.  The more votes/comments, the more prizes.

  1. I’d rip it. The Hanley is for the pc and you’re not going to sell it, so you can ONLY win by ripping it.

  2. Travis says:

Rip it… Rip it good. (Damn, now I have Devo’s “Whip it” stuck in my head.)

  3. Man i was torn on this one (oh crap i just did a pun un intentionally). My girlfriend’s son is obsessed with getting a rip card and has even down loaded you tube clips of how to open one without damaging the cards as much. We discussed and for now we say wait save it for opening when you have had a really bad day.

  4. [...] can’t figure out how to keep the Vote-Contest (Votest) post on top, so I’m not going to post anything new other than this short note.  Lots of box breaks [...]

  5. I voted rip it as well. On a side note, do you still need the following cards that I set aside for you awhile back as part of a trade that never panned out?

Target: 80 (Jennings), 183 (Strasburg), 188 (Sandoval), 324 (Red Sox)
    Gold Parallel (#ed/2011)
    171. Garrett Jones (#0062/2011)
    180. Paul Maholm (#0106/2011)

If interested, shoot me an email. If not, let me know and I’ll re-add them to my trade bait page – thanks!

Crap. I voted, but did not comment. DO NOT RIP! I have ripped two of them now, and it’s not worth it.
